The SACA organization gives awards to individuals who have proven themselves outstanding in the field of animal care and control. Nominations of employees should be submitted in Microsoft Word format by e-mail to either:

Animal Control Officer of the Year

To qualify one must retain permanent, full time employment as an Animal Control Officer, Kennel Worker, or Office Personnel, perform in an exemplary manner, act honestly, always be punctual, have self discipline and control, maintain a good attitude, exhibit responsibility, express dedication to his or her work, and show initiative for all aspects of this vocation.

Valor Award

To qualify one must be a permanent, full time employee in the animal care and control field, perform above and beyond the call of duty, work tirelessly to get the job done.  An Officer who has demonstrated exceptional performance and bravery in the line of duty during a difficult or dangerous assignment in the field.

Public Service Award

Presented to an officer who has made a significant contribution to improving the image of the animal control profession in his or her community.   For example, someone who has developed a positive relationship with the media or developed or participated in public education programs.

** President’s Award **

This is an optional award that may be given to a citizen who has assisted animal control on a local level.
